Excerpt 10: Judgement

We ask you now to think about the role that judgement takes in your life and how this fits into a conscious way of living. Try to answer these questions honestly to tease out the wisdom in your heart.

How can we avoid judgement in our lives? It is such a Soul destroying toxic thought process to get caught up in. You all know the spirals that this can bring us down. Where do we begin?

A tendency towards judging those around us always comes from a lack of something within ourselves. Even if a person is behaving in a way that many agree warrants judgement, why oh why do you choose to be that judge and jury? Is there something within you that wants to bring someone down? A need for power perhaps?

Is there something within you that you recognise in the person that you judge? Do you bring them down to divert attention away from yourself, knowing that you hold the same traits. Do you judge them because this is in fact something that you despise about yourself? Is it easier emotionally to destroy someone, other than yourself, and you feel good knowing that someone is paying for those actions?

What does judgement achieve? Does it bring you more strongly together as a race or pull you further apart? What is being achieved? Think about that for a moment. What is being achieved?

What answer have you come up with? Is it really fair and just? We understand, and agree, that some people need to be prevented from hurting others but if they are just living differently than the acceptable norm, is it really justified to judge them for that? Perhaps it stirs something in you because you have not mustered up the courage to live so honestly and fiercely.

Perhaps the next time you feel your mind going to the old familiar judgements, stop a moment and ask why. What will be achieved from it? What good will come from it, and also, what is this moment teaching you about yourself? How can you grow from your experience? We ask you again to consider, what progress will your Soul make on its journey from judging others?
