Who's Got Daddy Issues?

 

The most beautiful, soft and caring Divine Masculine archetype is The Father. It is an exact complement to the Divine Feminine archetype of The Mother.

When these two are fully embraced within a family dynamic miracles can happen. Unfortunately, this full expression of both is truly rare in modern times, though it is very possible to change this, within even a generation.

The Father archetype is kind, patient and loving. They are also protective like The Warrior archetype and these two can overlap in ways. They take their position as role models extremely seriously. They fully embrace their responsibility as a parent and understand and respect the enormity of the burden of it.

Of course this role may not be as a biological parent. It can be any authority or influential figure, from a mother, a sibling, a guardian of any kind, a teacher, a priest, a doctor etc. The Father archetype blooms in anyone who takes on the role of positively affecting those around them, especially those who are vulnerable to influence.

Their heart is open always to the great love they can give and receive from taking on this role in the lives of others. Though, they do not do it to receive. They do it because there is an unstoppable force within them to do the good and kind thing.

They have a very finely tuned moral compass and do not succumb to temptation. This aspect of the Divine Masculine appreciates support but will never look for praise. This aspect of their soul is their most authentic self coming through which they couldn't hold back if they tried.

This archetype may become wounded when they give too much, are hurt or are taken advantage of, causing them to shut down. This imbalance will present through resentment and overly protecting themselves to the point of coldness. They can strengthen The Father's best qualities by fortifying their own boundaries, while still keeping their heart open in their exchanges, maintaining balance within themselves.
